Our Goal...
When we set out to create this album our goal was simple, to bring the warmth and joy of the holiday season to everyone.
In deep appreciation to
Adi Da for all His gifts.
I dedicate this album to my mother, Irina who is always in my heart and to Itzhak Yaakov, my adopted father, (Tatuff as I call him) whose love and support will never be forgotten.
To all those who supported me and made this CD possible… Thank you so much... Katya
The Artists
Katya Grineva, a Moscow born pianist, celebrates her 14th solo appearance at Carnegie Hall in 2014, with a holiday concert. Critics have praised Katya as a “noted exponent of Romantic repertoire” (WNYC Radio), and described her playing as “liquid...dreamlike” (New York Times), “gem-like radiance... deserving of a standing ovation,” Singapore Straits Times.
Katya performs internationally and is the only female solo pianist to have performed in Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern auditorium, a record 14 times.
Byron Duckwall who produced and arranged “A Classical Holiday” is a concert cellist and conductor who has performed extensively worldwide. This is his third album with Katya. He is also a leading authority on the Dounis Method, a powerful and completely natural approach to string playing and he gives masterclasses internationally. He is publishing “The Dounis Method,” featuring the manuscripts of George Neikrug, the world’s foremost authority on Dounis. For more information go to masterthecello.com
